A Discipline interview to Pauline Deltour

1) What is your personal definition of “discipline”?

Simplicity – obviousness – function – sensibility – respect

2) What is your favourite natural material? Why?

I can´t really talk about a favourite material as I did not yet work with all of them, but during the last years I really enjoy working with metal. It is a material that can be transformed in so many ways, the scope of possibilities is almost infinite which is fascinating for me.

3) What should be the aim of design today?

Design should be more modest and much more durable. Design needs to be integrated earlier in the processus of creation, and should be involved in many more levels in the industry and the social life. However, to get there we need design to be more accessible and affordable: we need people to be more aware and concerned of the design possibilities.
